Totally with you.<br /><br />The fact that Thomas Friedman is a lone wolf on this is mind boggling. <br /><br />I have an engineer father who put up a windmill to power the shower at my parents home in Jersey, and I've been subject to the "get off oil" lecture for thirty years. And I'm glad for that.<br /><br />Why can't we have a single politician stress conservation?<br /><br />Why won't any of them say, "We'll give tax breaks to corporations that have 30% of their work force telecommute?"<br /><br />Why are we bailing out banks and not using that money to invest in freight rail?<br /><br />Now would be a prime time to put forward creative initiatives like these and not just talk about the need to "go green." Going green will take time. Conservation with what we have can start today, significantly hurting these regimes in a small amount of time.<br /><br />It's one of the most frustrating issues of our times.David Snoreply@blogger.com
